BENELUX - Ministerial Conference “The North Seas as green power station for Europe”, Oostende, 20.10.2021

 

On the initiative of the Belgian Minister of Energy, the FPS Economy, in collaboration with the General Secretariat of the Benelux, is organizing a  ministerial conference on 20 October from 9.30 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Kursaal in Ostend with the central theme: “The North Seas as green power station for Europe“

 

The intention of this conference is to:

  • Give a progress report on several projects in the North Seas that have evolved from the pre-feasibility to real projects ( “From drawing board to star projects”)
  • Provide an overview of the possibilities of financing (with the example of a landlocked country, update on support funds and the role of the European Investment Bank)
  • Find ways to inform the public and the participation of citizens
  • Start a discussion with the industry on implementing a 2050 vision into common practices

-  Mr Claude Turmes, Luxembourg Minister for Energy and Spatial Planning

-  Mr Eamon Ryan, Irish Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications

-  Mr Dan Jørgensen, Danish Minister of Climate and Energy and Utilities

-  Mr Vincent Van Quickenborne, Belgian Minister of the North Sea

-  Mr Chris Peeters, CEO of Elia

 

 

Participation is free of charge, but on invitation only. Registration is mandatory, before 14 October 2021
